A large area for recreation, bird watching, sailing, walking etc that sums up Alton Reservoir, a lovely area. The village is attractive having some lakes, well hidden, a watermill and of course The Royal Hospital School that moved from Greenwich in the 1930s. This mast head doesn't appear these day...

This Hall has wonderful park walks, rides and herbaceous gardens, it is moated with its own drawbridge. Lord and Lady Tollemache reside here and the hall is not open to the public. Take a stroll to the church and lake for view of the herds of deer

Pronounced Hoxun, this is a lovely village that I haven't visited for a few years. The houses are very picturesque. This is the place of course where St Edmund the Boy King of Anglia was murdered, there is a monument in a field depicting the spot where he was slain. Here is the church

Huntingfield

Huntingfield Church. The remarkable thing here is the painted roof, the richly decorated panelling was created from the brushes and paints of the vicars wife in the mid 19c, she must have been taught by that other great artist Michelangelo Buonarroti, they are just brilliant!
