Notes garnered from some of my many visits to All Saints Church Holbrook

  • No church mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086
  • Late 13c beginnings when Richard de Holbrook was Lord of the manor
  • The first Rector was in 1304 Ralph de Cretyng [From the village of Creeting]
  • South Aisle from 15c
  • Judge John Clench d 1607 lies here and was one of Elizabeth I Judges
  • 12 circular stones were originally consecration crosses
  • 14c Tower
  • Six Bells the earliest being 1547
