I best not leave it another 75 years to actually see a Nightingale! I heard it, saw one for the first time ever, recorded the sound and blow me down it came and sat on a branch among the thicket some 15 feet away, and then it shown its rusty red tail before disappearing. It is amazing how these birds seem to know when to leave Scandinavia and come to Britain in October 2010 thousands visited our coast and came in their hundreds to Suffolk knowing that cold weather was on the way. These birds appear at a distance as if they are Starlings and their wing formation in flight...
