'Cosco Africa' leaving the Port of Felixstowe yesterday, 349 metres long in total seen here rounding Suffolk's most southerly point

I stood by the Shipping Tug Station and could see the Svitzer Intrepid leaving her berth and heading upriver at Felixstowe to Trinity Terminal, the last crane arms had gone up and it just needed to get a line on to The Maersk Salalah.

This was all happening at the other end of the port some 2.5 miles away, The Salalah weighs in at over 100000 Tons and has a length of one fifth of a mile, she really is a monster, fortunately the tide was very low and I was able to get down to the tideline to capture her from about 1.5 miles away

Xin Ning Bo is a Shanghai registered container ship, she had just finished unloading/loading and came out of Port bristling with 'boxes', she is nowhere near the biggest container ships but she looked it as she was leaving the quay Length x Breadth: 280 m X 40 m DeadWeight: 69303 tonnes
