Colchester Museum has identified above

Dear Mr Cooper

Sorry for the delay, I got the bug but I sent the butterfly pictures to my colleague for verification as the angle they were taken at made identification tricky.

I can confirm that the butterflies are Grayling Hipparchia semele and Silver-studded blue Plebeius argus. (both very battered!)

The bug is a Forest Bug Pentatoma rufipes which is a species of shield bug rather than a beetle.
