Thorpeness

A holiday haven mainly built in the 1920's this is a lovely area for relaxation or for recreational facilites. Here we have a picturesque golf course, the lake with much boating activity, splendid walks through boardwalks around the marshes or a stroll to the sea.

There is of course the 'working' windmill and The House in the Clouds

Thorpeness should of course be called Thorpeness Heaven, just the best place to be on a summer's day. Nothing beats sitting outside the Mere Cafe on a sunny day, drinking a glass of wine and eating one of Liz's delicious panini's and watching the world go be. Ssh, don't tell everyone otherwise the place will be crowded. The Mere Cafe is also a very nice place to have a cup of tea and a bit of cake on Boxing Day, (yes they are open then), after fish and chips at Aldeburgh (yes, they are open there too on that day), and a bracing walk along the beach. A nice alternative to 25th of December, (Christmas day)!
