towards the end of this clip is a scene of the Lifeboat in the 60s as I remember it. when coming in she would be hauled up a ramp to the top, turned 90 degrees and hauled a few yard and turned again ready to be at the top of the slip way to go out again. My parents had a caravan at Church Farm and often if the maroon flare went up during the night we would go out to watch. One time i was allowed to knock out the pin from the holding chain to release the lifeboat. really exciting for a 10 yeara old.
