There are a few Martello Towers on the Suffolk Coast, I will place some photos on this thread as I photograph them, the most Southern is at Shotley Point and the most Northerly is at Slaughden, Aldeburgh
Tower 'L' is located at Shotley and is best viewed from Harwich although I took this photo from a pilot launch in midstream of the River Stour, Grade II listed building
This shot was taken from Halfpenny Pier, Harwich with a 270mm Tamron camera lens
The other Martello Tower at Shotley is slightly to the right of the Old HMS Ganges looking inland from the River Stour Estuary, again this is Grade II Listed designated with the letter 'M' with a water container on the top, this shot is from Shotley Point on the sea side of the Marina
'N' was buried under the Port of Felixstowe Dock Extension somewhere in the Dooley Fort area and 'O' was lost to the sea in the 19c and was situated somewhere between Landguard Container Terminal and the RADAR Tower
At Manor End, Landguard, Felixstowe is Tower 'P' this was once a moated tower and has until recently been used as an HM Coastguard Lookout Tower, I did hear that its status was unsure with recent cutbacks, I knew a volunteer lookout that worked here keeping a watch on the sea
