A view of Pakefield from the beach at Kessingland. If anyone is wanting to use the SC&HP here then there are detours as much of the cliff top is 'private' [eg Pontin's Holiday Camp]

Again walking the beach be aware of the high tides as these can come right up to the base of the cliffs so check that you are walking on a receding or lowish tide, also the cliffs can be unstable as there is much erosion in parts

Pakefield Coast Guard watch Tower from the cliffs which was built as a lighthouse in the 1830/1840's, during WWII the tower was used by the military and was attacked by a Luftwaffe fighter aircraft

Two Royal Naval 6" Gun Platforms that protected Lowestoft Harbour that fell on to the beach in 1940 at Pakefield and then get covered by sand until the next rough weather exposes them again

Fishing Boats and Gear at Pakefield



St Margarets & All Saints Church with its double nave above the cliffs



This is the only church that I know of where sheep are allowed to graze the churchyard!smile
