Entering Benacre from Covehithe or from Kessingland/Benacre Sluice you are reminded that you are entering a National Nature Reserve [NNR] it is also in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty [AONB]
It is sometimes referred to as Suffolk's Jurassic Coast due to finding geological fossils, of the dozens of times I have visited this area and the hundreds of miles that I have walked the cliffs or the beach I have never found one!
Please leave this area as you find it, wild and unspoilt for future generations to enjoy it, bird lovers will surely find an uncommon bird or two along this stretch with Sand Martins nesting in the cliffs, Little Terns, Avocets and Plovers nesting on the beach but to me the main interest is the wind/sea erosion into these fragile cliffs
There is no doubt in my mind that the most amount of coastline that is disappearing in Suffolk is happening here at Benacre, the stretch from Benacre to Covehithe Broad is the most vulnerable and there is little that can be done from preventing it happen
