I find Barham Pits in certain places quite idyllic, this is a beauty spot a handful of miles West of Ipswich. If you can ignore the thunderous traffic from the adjacent A14 Trunk Road and ignore the yucky buildings running alongside the River Gipping then you could be on the Norfolk Broads.
The wild life is good, birds, trees, flowers, the large waterfilled pits but as I write there are no seats, there is a circular walk but be aware that it can be quite muddy and slippery at times
