RE: Harwich Haven

These Pilot Boats are something powerful, on Thursday the sea was a flat calm, hardly a ripple to be seen, then just a few feet away, half throttle then three quarter throttle and then creating waves, this is the boat I did a photoshoot from for the Harwich Haven Authority, the one I came back on was slightly more powerful and we were on the inside of the water tight compartment

The Ferry behind the Pilot Boat is the Stena Britannica that sails from Parkeston Quay/Harwich to the Hook of Holland at approx 0930hrs each day with the new Superferry The Stena Hollandica arriving at Harwich at 1900hrs each evening

This is the largest Ferry Vessel in the world and she only made her first trip to Harwich last weekend, there are just too many people down at the Viewpoint at the moment watching her come and go so I'll let things simmer down before heading down there in the evening.

Meanwhile:-

Since we lost the controversial High Speed Service a new stretched Ferry was put into service, I caught this leaving Harwich on Thursday morning on a flat calm
