This is the Harwich-Shotley-Felixstowe Foot Ferry arriving from Shotley to pick up the passengers from Ha'penny Pier Harwich, mixing it with the huge container ships, fast boats, and on occasion 13 deck high cruise liners, wonderful stuff

I saw this Catamaran a few weeks ago from about 3 miles away in a shipping channel and realised it was something quite special as it looked as if it was being tested and had a load of 'balloons' on the vessel as if someone was celebrating a lottery win.

I found out what it is, on Monday it was moored up in Harwich and is used for evaluating the feasability of placing oil/gas platforms and wind turbines on sandbanks such is currently being erected off Clacton
