The centre line across Toppesfield Bridge separates Hadleigh from Lower Layham. This side of the Bridge is the original 14c Bridge and is the oldest bridge still in use by traffic in the County, The River is of course the Brett which rises near Lavenham and discharges into The River Stour close to Higham Hall, yesterday when on the Bridge there were no rushes as per my last photos taken last year
