Moyse's Hall in the centre of Bury St Edmunds dates back to 1180 and is one of the oldest habitable buildings in Suffolk

The beautiful Helmingham Hall has many of those lovely Elizabethan Chimney Stacks that we see so much of in Suffolk, the gardens are stunning too

Hengrave Hall is beautiful, the oriel window to the front is one of the most ornate windows in the country, I passed by here during the summer but I notice that on this occasion there was no access. Pevsner's book 'The Buildings of Suffolk' features this window on the front cover of his 'bible', when I took these photos Peac0cks were roaming the grounds, the nearby church is very beautiful too
