RE: River Orwell

Yep Tarkey it is essential to book and get on board 30 minutes before she sails to get an upper deck seat, take your own cushion though as they are of slatted aluminium! Its a brilliant 3.5 hour trip that cost £10 a head for Concessions and £12.50 normal price

Wednesdays are bad days as if you get two coaches booked then it becomes a little crowded, I would say a tenner well spent! smile.gif

I think so fascinating place or at least its history

The chap at Hollesley connected to the Shingle Street Affair was also chairman of the Sherlock Holmes Society and the Margaret Catchpole Society. And he loved to talk abput it.
This place featured inhte catchpole Story as a lookout point for the smugglers. A stuffed cat was put in the windo as an all clear
