RE: Nature Reserves

RSPB North Warren between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, I haven't walked the disused railway line for nigh on 5 years but that is a great place to see several varieties of birds, I did pop into the area between the North & South marsh a couple of days ago and this is the place to see overwintering White Fronted Geese, they were there but too far off for any decent photographs

From Slaughden just south of Aldeburgh is the start of the shingle spit that extends all the way to Orfordness opposite Orford Quay and beyond to near Shingle Street, Hollesley. I wonder why it is essential that remedial work is carried out to maintain this narrow spit of land and not allow the breaching of the shingle naturally as is expected to happen at Minsmere/Dunwich sometime in the future. If the channel to the River Alde was dredged often enough sailors would save a lot of time wanting to get into/from the North Sea.

I suppose that there would be silting up in the Alde...........
