Streetly End

No not many people have heard of it - it's a small hamlet off the Haverhill to Royston road on the way to Wickham. I lived in a room upstairs in the Chequers just after I left the mob. £6 a week all in but used to work behind the bar too. The pub is now a private house. The Chequers was run by a lady who used to have the Bull in Troston when I lived there, if you were over 5ft 9ins you had to walk round with a stoop to avoid the beams.
