I love these. On the odd occasion we get one in the garden and they fascinate me. I once watched one near my conifer hedge waiting for insects to come up. It was like a Spitfire homing in on a 109. I have never been able to photograph one

No.7 No the close up photos were not taken with a close up lenz you can get close to anything in nature with patience and the know how, ask my friend Robert who was my teacher and is trying to get this Common Darter up his nose. Just in case any of you dont know just click on the thumb nail photo to enlarge it.
