Burgate


Burgate Church is reputed to be where the body of St Edmund the Boy King rested for one night en route from where he was slain by the Danes at Hoxne to Bury St Edmunds (hence the name). Here is shown the tomb to Sir William de Burgate d1409 with a wonderful brass adorning the altar top to this knight in armour
