Hi there, my name's Tom and i've lived all my life in Tuddenham. Both my parents grew up in Tuddenham too, i don't know whether i'm going to get out of the place! It is a nice small village though, with a history going back to the Magna Carta. The name of the village is Saxon, and means 'Tudda's House'. The church dates from the 14th century i think, and had restorations in the 19th century. My parents married here when the bells were still working! The Village pub is called The White Hart and there is also Tuddenham Mill, which was once a working water mill but was converted into restaurant in the 70's. It's quite expensive but enough people go there. The oldest house is Lane house (opposite the Green) which was erected in 1581, the date is inscribed on the building. The Green is a pretty part of the village with many nice houses and cottages. If you go North from the Green you will see a pond on the left and a playing field to the right where football, cricket and bowls are played. Further up the road is Cavenham Heath (Should be Tuddenham Heath really) which is the most southerly point of the Brecks i believe. Lots of rabbits and deer here. I'll try and take some pictures of Tuddenham when i get the time. Hope this info has helped.
Thanks for the potted history ot TSM and welcome to the forum, it is a long time since I have been there, often see it signposted when near Lackford Lakes, but never seem to get the time to get there
Cavenham Heath is a place I need to get to as the wild/bird life is supposed to be good.
Meanwhile please post as many pictures of your own as you wish, would love to see them
