A lovely spot in Breckland, The Little Ouse runs nearby, there are forest walks galore, The Forestry Commission have an office and museum in the village. The cottages are flintknapped, the village can be approached by a near mile long avenue of lime trees.

The Avenue of Limes in the Autumn, take a slow drive or better still walk the near mile avenue to see this beautiful Suffolk scene this is on the Santon Downham to Thetford Road

Santon Downham is a pretty little village, just inside the Suffolk border but looking at the houses with its knapped flintstones you could be in nearby Norfolk.

When visiting the website don't forget to read up on The Great Sand Flood that hit the area, the history of which I have read up on in the Village Information Centre, I think it was then run by the Forestry Commission
