My mother was born in Milden in 1916.  Her father was a horseman on Pound Farm (I think). They moved from there in 1927 or thereabouts. My mother and her brothers used to walk to school to Monks Eleigh each day as did a lot of children at that time.
The laburnum trees brings back memories of a story my Grandfather used to tell us. He was a pall bearer at his time there and when the Laburnum trees  were in full bloom, although beautiful, it made their tasks very difficult.  There is a section of the grave yard which includes a number of Goodchilds--these are my ancesters.
