Iken runs alongside the River Alde and from the cliffs commands good views of reedbeds, saltmarshes and the church. This really is a very peaceful spot with walks to the right to Iken, the Hall and Church and left along the river bank to Snape Maltings, beware of the high tides sometimes the boardwalk doesn't cover the highest.
I walked along the footpath from Iken Cliffs towards the Church of St Botolphs, sadly with rising tides the foreshore is becoming more boggy, but this place is quite idyllic, the barges were still here, the Little Egret liked the area around the Bay so much that we counted 6 different ones
