Sir H Rider Haggard, author of King Solomon's Mines had a clifftop holiday retreat at Kessingland and in the early 20th century experimented with growing Marram Grass on the beach here, today the grass has spread to such an extent that it has consolidated a beach head and pushed the sea out by several hundreds of yards as seen here
