In the latter part of the 12thc Leiston Abbey was sited on what we call Minsmere, due to water ingressing the site the 'new' abbey was removed to the site where the other ruins are to be found today.

hi i am looking foreward to another vist to leiston again on 1st june i couldnt get the b&b i stayed at last time in leiston, so will be staying in knodishall some family connections came from there ( forster ) i believe its only just over a mile to leiston, had enjoyable visit last time ,also hope to get to theberton the weather was very kind to us on last visit cheers for now harrywrag

Allan if you manage to take any photos please share them with us it is quite easy to upload them. Hope the weather stays fine for you. Don't forget to have a look in Theberton Church Porch where the Zeppelin Airship was shot down nearby....!
