Gisleham

Anyone with memories here, I have been here like every village and almost every hamlet in Suffolk but do not know much about the village apart from the round towered church

John. That's my church. You never fail to amaze. Went to Sunday School there. Pumped the church organ, rang the bells and helped my uncle to dig graves; the village men used to take turns.  Many of my ancestors are buried in the churchyard. I went to my aunt's funeral there in February last year; the last of my father's generation. It was a clear, sunny morning and the sunshine through the stained glass East window created a glorious picture.

Great pictures of Gisleham Church. Thanks for showing them here. I climbed that tower many times in my younger days and I learned to ring the bells once the war ended
