Needham Market

'Twixt Ipswich and Stowmarket, thankfully the main arterial road no longer runs through Needham!smile Within walking distance of the town centre is Needham Lakes, teeming with wild birdlife

The church in the High Street has a Nave Roof which beggars belief, there is not a nail holding this roof together. When inside the church the leaflet explains the best way to view the roof is to a lie on your back on a pew and imagine the roof is an upturned galley ship. Well I did that a few years back and here is what you see

John   Is this not the Mustard Pott cottage that used to be on the turn off for Mendlesham on the A140 at Brockford?

That was moved Tarkey to Needham as I remember the publicity at the time, I had called it erroneously The Honey Pot Cottage from where I cannot recall.

If it is the Mustard Pot then it definately came from the A140 at brockford. The turn off for Mendlesham. My Grandmother was a Lambert from Mendlesham and I remember her speaking about it every time we passed it. It was very close to where the railway line went under the A140 to Brockford Station. She used to talk about a young girl being killed at Medlesham Station
