Arguably Suffolks most picturesque village with a beautiful church keeping watch over the village in a valley. There is a wonderful watersplash and a pub named The Bell, many colourwashed buildings adorn the hilly street. I suppose a million or more photos have been taken of the watersplash but just by way of a change here is one that isn't
....and one of those lovely old Suffolk Inns, this one The Bell
I love the watersplash at Kersey ! I first saw it in the very first episode of the "Lovejoy" series when Eric Catchpole's motorbike brakes failed as he was giving Lovejoy a lift - they roared through the water just as Lady Jane was about to unveil a new village sign, and so they drenched her in duckweed. I just had to visit it and see for myself, and found it far more peaceful in real life than it was in the TV series! What particularly appeals to me is the way that the ducks look over their shoulders and seem to say "Shall I move for yet another car ?" - and then they realise that if they do so they may get their picture taken yet again - so they waddle slowly out of the way. Magically peaceful !
A few years ago Roger before the days of Lovejoy I visited Kersey and parked my car outside the pottery, when I came back from the church at the top of the hill I found my car partly in the Splash [faulty handbrake] I learned my lesson always to leave a car in gear when parked.
I agree an idyllic spot but sssshhhhhh lets keep that place magical
