There is a bell on one of the out-buildings of the mill, large with a hammer was this to summon workers to work or to warn of approaching barges to the lock?

A three picture stitch from the wooden bridge at Flatford looking downstream, good job it was quietish as at weekends it is heaving with people and rowing boats
