Thomas Seckford, Court Lawyer to Elizabeth I, he was also a benefactor to the townwho created such buildings as Seckford Hall, The Shire Hall, and Seckford Hospital and Almshouses

Isaac Johnson was a map maker of repute

Edward Fitzgerald was famous for translating the poems of Omar Khayyam

Thomas Churchyard was a local water colour artist and lawyer
