Looking towards the foreground from Shotley Point is the landing stage for foot ferry passengers travelling twixt Felixstowe and Harwich, beyond of course is the huge Port of Felixstowe, some of these vessels visiting are the largest container ships in the world. To have the best view of shipping activity is either here or at Landguard Fort

The road to the point has been recently improved and has been widened from a single track road to two tracks, with seating and safety rails.

I mentioned earlier the unusual building which is a Martello Tower with a water supply tank added to the top is to be found on the old HMS Ganges site, I knew I had a photo somewhere, this was snapped from the Marina
