Felixstowe and Ferry
 

From Felixstowe Ferry to Landguard Point (Suffolks most southerly point) stretches for almost five miles and is known as the Colneis Peninsular, from the North by the River Deben estuary to the south The River Orwell estuary.

Much will be shown about the Port which is the largest in the UK and the fourth largest in Europe, the views above the cliff out to sea or from promenade level are quite spectacular.

Huge container and super cruise ships ply the waters of Harwich Haven and the best viewing point is at Landguard which boasts a nearby fort and just where the last invasion on British soil occurred

whilst at The Ferry yesterday we spotted a seal on a sandbank it was there for several hours sunning itself, whilst we have seen the occasional seal bobbing along we have never seen one take the 'liberty boat' before.

We also saw a couple of Black Redstarts among the Norwegian Rocks by the Golf Course Martello Tower

Go to Suffolks most visited attraction, Landguard viewing area called John Bradfield Viewing Area. This area is due for some dramatic changes in the next few years where the quayside will be pushed further into the channel. The worlds largest cruise ships pop into Parkestone (Essex), some beautiful ferries pass through to/fro Europe and of course these giant container ships, some that can hold well over 10000 containers and are 1000' in length.

Landguard Fort & Nature Reserve & Viewpoint
 

See the worlds biggest ships, go to the Bird Observatory, look at nature, the odd looking plants and find The Stinking Goosfoot plant one of only three places it grows in England.

Or, just visit the fort and museum........

The gardens are quite special around the Spa Pavilion



....and the Town Hall is decorated in the summer
