Water Supply over the Centuries

I have noticed that several places have retained the old water pumps for all to see, and how water was obtained from from the underground reservoirs. I will upload some photos as I come across them from springs, streams, rivers, wells, hand pumps etc to water towers and reservoirs.

I once had a try at water divining and to my amazement it worked, if anyone has stories or photos of their experience on obtaining water other than from a tap or bottle then please share them with us.

I wasn't brought up in Suffolk but I still remember having to go to the water pump to prime the handle to build up the pressure and then carry a porcelain pail with a lid on back home
