The village is one mile East of Brandeston, a small village situated just North of a weir on the River Deben. The Church of St Andrew stands in an elevated position close to a farmhouse. Although the church has 3 x 2 clerestory windows it would appear as though the aisles intended for the church weren't added due to lack of funds.

There is a footpath running parallel to the River Deben which then crosses the river going to Hoo Hall, Church and the village

The Church of St Andrew has an unusual two tier window arrangement, maybe to allow more light to enter the nave or perhaps to have an aisle or two fitted ch kettlebaston.jpg
