There are some lovely walks in and around the park, the church sits in the grounds of the park and the nearby hall

In 1605 Edmund Bokenham of Great Thornham was appointed High Sheriff of Suffolk and in 1630 Sir Henry Bokenham held this office and in 1649 Sir Wiseman Bokenham
