Apart from having some very lovely walks through nearby Tunstall Forest there is also the pub The Green Man which has a connection with  the church a few hundred yards away

When I first visited St Michael's Church on 21st January 1999 I made some notes and gleaned others from the leaflet from the church

  • Core of the Church 14c
  • 15c Tower
  • Six Bells hung in the tower
  • 12c Font bowl is made from Purbeck stone, the shaft is 16c
  • Graffiti is circa16c and shows many boats at anchor
  • Smugglers Grave in the churchyard
  • Coat of Arms to George III dd1764
  • Flushwork to buttresses on Tower
  • Garishly painted pulpit and box pews [1999]
