Somerleyton

This is a very large country estate with hall (open to the public) an attractive village.

Somerleyton Church sits on the edge of the estate of the nearby hall and park. In my opinion the church is quite beautiful despite extensive Victorian modernisation. The original rood screen still exists as do two 14c Flemish stained glass windows on the north nave wall

I have only been to this area of Suffolk once before [time I took another visit I know! smile.gif]

I did not know there is a Marina here until very recently, I have seen the Hall but never visited but I do recall a lot of the hall's estate houses nearby, can someone near to the area please furnish the site with some photos or write ups?

There will be a series of photos from the grounds of Somerleyton Hall where filming for the BBC's Antiques Roadshow was underway in September 2009 to be shown from December onwards. There was over 100 BBC staff in attendance, I was fortunate enough to be invited to be by a TV Cameramans when the filming of The Dolls House was being filmed.

I'm sure some of you who are avid viewers of AR will recognise some of the celebrities of the programme. The first shot is the huge AR Truck used in the Roadshow
