Some spell and pronounce this two ways, I'll take the most common usage and say Erwarton. Everytime I see this hall it gives me the creeps, it looks spooky even on film. Perhaps it has something to do with Anne Boleyn often staying here, her heart is supposed to have been encased in a casket and inserted in the church wall.

Just behind the Hall there is a small lake, often migrating birds use this as a stopover point there are also good views of the Shotley/Stour area
