Sudbury

A fine market town with lovely walks along the banks of the River Stour especially on the water meadows. This of course is the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough the 'other' landscape artist and of course he was particularly well known for his portraits.

Three fine churches adorn Sudbury and don't forget to check out St Gregory's chancel roof and the wonderful ornate huge font cover

Sudbury All Saints. Three fine churches are to be found in Sudbury, this is one of them just south of the town centre. One of the eight bells in the tower is supposed to weigh over one ton and is thought to be the heaviest in Suffolk

The Mill in your photo John used to be (probably still is) a great restaurant - in the floor was a glass window and you could watch the water go by underneath you - good food too.
