A village on the South Eastern outskirts of Ipswich with part of the village having a splendid riverside view of the Orwell Bridge. I took this pic yesterday from Freston Hard the site of an old Roman Footpath can sometimes be seen here at extreme low tide. Beware of leaving your car and going for a walk from here on extreme high tide as the layby and road is prone to flooding.

There is a lovely yacht builders/repairers/chandlers on the waterfront known as Fox's Marina, the village also plays host to the HQ of Electricity Supply giant E-On plus a ski slope with very good views overlooking the river and the town of Ipswich

The tip of the church can just be seen to the left of the two pylons. This scene was taken from Pipers Vale looking towards Wherstead Church through the centre arch of the Orwell Bridge.

Back in November 2007 the extremely high tides, orwel overflowed over the road into the fields!
