RE: Hadleigh

I had the opportunity to visit Hadleigh yesterday and would consider the Town to be the most complete medieval town in all of Suffolk. I will upload some photos in the coming days

Hadleigh Church of St Mary, one of our greatest assets, she looks magnificent pointing a finger [the spire] at the sky from the very centre of this medieval town, these are my notes and those of the church from my visits over the years

  • Tower is from 12c
  • The font dates from 1350
  • The Nave roof was constructed c1450
  • The organ dates from 1738
  • A window features Rowland Taylor one time Rector who was burnt at the stake in the 16c
  • It could be argued that St Mary's Hadleigh is the most pleasing large church of the county
