Lifeboats & Emergency Services

We do not have too many stations here in Suffolk but I wish to acknowledge the bravery and endeavour of all that help others in their hour of need. I owe my life to these people, not in the UK but in the Indian Ocean nearly 50 years ago.

In fact a forum member is the President of one such RNLI branch in Shropshire, he is a stalwart to the cause despite not being very active physically, I salute you all aww

When I was at school my parents had a caravan in Aldeburgh. We would often be woken up during the night when the maroon went up. I can remember when there were 2 life boats there. On one occassion I was allowed to knock out the pin from the chain that waa holding the boat at the top of the slipway. As a younster it was exciting.
