On my visit to Covehithe again last Tuesday, I was quite surprised to see this notice appear which basically bans pedestrians for accessing the beach, less than three years ago this was the cliff edge, this section of cliff has since disappeared and what is left is covered with brambles and undergrowth
This is the current view from the 'road to nowhere' looking north towards Benacre, since I was last here two years ago so much land has been washed away from either sea, wind or even rain erosion, this is most noticeable from the beach [more on this later] as where Sand Martins nested last year today there is no evidence and some of their nesting holes penetrate 3' into the cliff face. As a point of interest the Martins are back and more on this later
