Now here is an enigma, what went on in WWII at Shingle Street that we have all heard rumour of what happened but didn't really exist. So if there were all these closed notices on Shingle Street why didn't things exist, under John Major's leadership he released these papers during his tenure as PM and nothing untoward apparently occurred. So why the closed notices in the National Archives.

Bawdsey being nearby obviously had nothing to do with it.....mmmmmhmm

I visited Shingle Street today, very cold and windy, if anyone has not been to this remote spot this is one reason why it is called Shingle Street, the houses in the background are The Coast Cottages, on my last visit here Cormorants (birds) were having a field day with the trapped fish in the nearby shallow waters. There must have been 70-80 hunters that day! We also saw a seal.

I have a version on Shingle Street which I believe is right. I cannot discuss it in public. Bawsey had nothing to do with it and its more a question of Churchill and National Pride than anything sinister
