At an area known as The Fludyers [usually pronounced Floodjers] named after the sea front pub of the same name and looking South on a misty day

Still at the Fludyers and turning North you come across a large groyne which can look effective on a near high tide, many rocks/boulders have been put in place in this area too

Beyond the Groynes on what is known as Cobbolds Point leading to Jacobs Ladder there is no access along the beach, there is a pathway that takes you up and over Cobbolds Point along to a row of beach huts by a car park and a green sward area

In some areas of FXT Beach the wooden groynes are being replaced with Norwegian rocks there are warning notices on anyone playing on these rocks The next view is looking North from Jacobs Ladder [which is a series of steps to take you up the cliff from the seafront] Bawdsey can be seen at the futhermost point This view is taken from Cliffland Car Park looking towards Jacobs Ladder and Cobbolds Point the photo is much enlarged, this area is very popular in the summer months where the slip way is situated this is known as The Dip and on an extreme low tide you can see the remains of Walton Fort/Castle a Roman Ruin

If you are very lucky you might be able to spot a seal or two, they are becoming more common around the sand/shingle banks but we were very fortunate on one visit as this seal was sunning itself on a groyne and was quite approachable, if you wish to see other seal pictures just click on to any large picture which will take you to others
