Anyone here with a connection to the village?

Wortham Church round tower from a different angle, this is Englands largest diameter round tower, thought originally to have been a watch tower

Archaeological evidence points to the tower being contemporary with the original nave, but it may also have served watchtower purposes.
I write this as recently retired churchwarden at the church, but currently engaged with local DFAS Church Recorders group on recording the church.
Your photograph is at least seven years out of date.

Correct Michael, these photos were taken between 9-12 years ago, I am doing the rounds again but as you know we live in a large county so any info on St Mary's or the village from an historical point of view that you might have would be most welcome smile.gif
