St Mary's Church

  • South Aisle windows are 14c
  • The brick tower was built between 1730-32
  • A ring of twelve bells and is the lightest ring of any church anywhere in the world
  • The tenor bell is the oldest dd 1628
  • 15c font
  • 15c Double hammerbeam roof, one of the finest in Suffolk
  • 15c painting of St Christopher on the north wall
  • Aisle supports contain ancient graffiti
  • Ancient slab in the south aisle
  • 14c restored rood screen
  • 15c bench ends onderfully carved
  • 13c piscina
  • The oldest memorial is dated 1610 to Ann Manocke
  • Parish registers datee from 1539
