I had this in from Tarkey Barkey, anyone stationed at RAF Bawdsey would recall The Brinkley Family: [Am also posting this on the Bawdsey Thread], so does anyone recall this device

The Brinkley Stick was used to discharge an electical charge from an item ( not sure what ). Charlie Brinkley lived in a cottage on Orford Island when the RADAR guys were there and had an accident with a shotgun and lost one arm.

Hi,  I was stationed at RAF Bawdsey from August 1958 to December 1959, SACW Jackie Selby, part of Fighter Squadron and working underground as an Air Defence Operator, fancy name for fighter plotter and radar operator, or 'Nodder' as the others called us.
The old Chel towers were still standing when I was there.
The Ferryman at that time was called Jim, and Albert's bus was still running.
One of our favourite places was the Galleon Cafe on the Felixstowe side of the ferry, they served really good Plaice and chips, and I think one of the ladies who served there was called Joyce, I remember she had an amber pendant she wore that had a fly trapped in it.  Behind the cafe there was a motley collection of old boats and an old aeroplane with no wings, they were rented out as accomodation!
Bawdsey was a lovely camp and I really enjoyed my time there.
