In 1979 Air Commodore The Hon. Sir Peter Beckford Rutgers Vanneck, G.B.E., C.B., A.F.C., A.E., of White Lodge, Waldringfield, Woodbridge was appointed High Sheriff of Suffolk

  • A Saxon burial urn was discovered in the church grounds in 1841 and is now to be found in The British Museum
  • Further Saxon, Roman and Iron Age finds have been discovered including chariot harness Terret ring moulds
  • Once 4 bells hung in the church but three were sold for gunmetal in the Napoleonic Wars
  • A nicely cut 16c font within the church
  • Coprolite was mined from the village called The Glebe
  • My first visit to the church was on the 29th May 1999
